Chief Governance Officer and Company Secretary

Contribution to the Board:
Gary works closely with the Chair to ensure effective and efficient functioning of the Board and appropriate alignment and information flows between the Board and its Committees. He is responsible for advising the Board and individual directors on all governance matters, and also facilitates Board induction and directors’ professional development.
Relevant experience:
Gary is a qualified lawyer with significant governance, legal and regulatory experience. He was appointed Chief Governance Officer and Company Secretary at the beginning of 2025 and prior to that held various roles in the Corporate Governance function, including Head of Corporate Secretariat and Deputy Company Secretary. Prior to joining NatWest, Gary was a Senior Associate at A&O Sherman.
