NatWest Group set up the NatWest India Foundation in 2007 to strengthen communities, improve livelihoods, and promote conservation. The Foundation’s 23 projects across the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Odisha, West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttar Pradesh have benefitted over 1,82,000 families in 2,100
villages since inception.

NatWest Group Earth Heroes Awards, previously known as RBS Earth Heroes Awards, were institutionalised in 2011 to provide a national platform to those individuals and institutions that have espoused and undertaken actions to protect our endangered forest, wetlands, and other natural ecosystems. The award winners are selected by an independent jury comprising eminent personalities from conservation science and management, media, and the government.
