If you have questions about our history, we will be pleased to try to help.
How to contact us
You can email us at archives@natwest.com or write to NatWest Group Archives, 6 South Gyle Crescent Lane, Edinburgh, EH12 9EG.
Before you make your enquiry, please check the information on this site. Even if it does not answer your query, it may help you to refine exactly what you want to ask, and give you an idea of how likely it is that we'll be able to help.
Our pages about using our archives for researching family history, local history and British banking history are a good place to start.
Our services
We can search our database and other indices for references to particular people, institutions or places. If you can pinpoint a bank and date that are of interest, we may also be able to search non-indexed volumes on your behalf.
Subject to copyright restrictions, we may be able to provide photocopies or scans of relevant information, as long as the item will not be damaged by the process of copying.
We can also provide digital copies of some of the photographs in our care.
Can you help?
Although we hold extensive archives relating to many of our larger constituents, we know much less about some of the smaller or shorter-lived banks. If you have information that might help to fill in some of the gaps, we'd be delighted to hear from you.
